Ohhhhhh this is so exciting! I spent some time last summer working on the amazing Raygun Gothic Rocketship. Today, it got approved to be installed on the Embacadero (which is downtown right on the bay in San Francisco, for those of you who don’t live here)!!

We probably won't be setting off quite this many fireworks or fuel...
Yay!!
incidentally, I don’t know who took this picture. If it was you, please let me know so I can credit you, it’s an amazing shot!
I went to Japantown after work today, and wound up with fishcake, sushi rice vinegar, and a book called Yum-Yum Bento Box. Impossible to resist, improbable to expect much execution of said bentos by me. But I can pretend.
Still working on presents and other surprises, but here is a picture anyway…

One crazy hippie tie-dye, and one I’m not quite done with, yet. And still more secret plans!
I had the largest doughnut of my life at Voodoo Doughnut, while in Portland a month ago.
It haunts my dreams. It had eyes. It was as big as my (truly enormous) hand. Oh, doughnut:

It’s the sparkly little seamonster, finished at last…

He has green eyes, but they’re a little lost in all that fuzz.
So today was a little unexpected. I made about half of a seamonster-octopus using crazy sparkly green-black-blue-yellow yarn (pix soon as I’m done with him), but I didn’t get to finish him. But! I did get to spend a lot of the evening geeking out with a former roommate of mine, and that is always good.
I also made a network diagram at work, but I’m not convinced that that counts. So! Half an octopus and three new maybe-friends, not too shabby for a Wednesday. And now a moderately boring book and some sleep.
For tomorrow, I get to talk to people in Japan! Cooooooool!
I’m going to try to post every day in June, since there aren’t enough pictures or posts going on here. So.
Here’s what I made today:

octofrog? frogtopus? He’s green!
