Thing-a-day

I’m going to try to post every day in June, since there aren’t enough pictures or posts going on here. So.

Here’s what I made today:

octofrog? frogtopus? He’s green!

Maker Faire 2010

Oh, the Maker Faire was great this year!

The rocketship was there, and a gazillion people got to see it.

I’ll have pictures once I find time to slurk them out of my real camera. But for now…

Editor's Choice

They gave me a blue ribbon for the ice cream cart. Pretty nifty, eh? I was stunned at first, then I thought it was a joke, and then I realized, hey, cool!

Crafty Wonderland!

Dorklandia is traveling to Portland this weekend for Crafty Wonderland. Oh boy!

Here is a link with details: http://craftywonderland.com/index.htm

If you live in or near Portland, please stop by and say hi!

Craft Happy

Coming up next Saturday, Craft Happy!

I’m planning on having a new table set-up, but it depends on how much time I have this week.

Come see!

Also, someone blogged about dorklandia!

Makers Market

I’m pleased to announce that dorklandia now has space in the Makers Market. I’ve just listed a zombie monster octopus, and will be posting more as I get better pictures. This should be a pretty nifty spot!

Here’s a picture of the zombie:

Five Ton Crane!

I’m excited to be a part of Five Ton Crane’s first First Friday in Oakland tomorrow night. Come and see art made by the amazing people behind The Raygun Gothic Rocketship and The Steampunk Treehouse.

Neat people, cool stuff, and a West Oakland warehouse. Join us!

Noise Pop n Shop!

Come to the Noise Pop n Shop event next Saturday! It’s at the very-swanky Verdi Club in San Francisco. The Slow Club is just across the street, so have brunch and come on over. Mmm, brunch at the Slow Club. Should be a fun show.

Sunbrothers Saturday

I will have a little table at the Sunbrothers 10th Anniversary Valentine’s Show this Saturday! Hope to see you there! Here’s a link for you: http://www.sunbrothers.com/news/?p=93

Uncanny!

I have to post this, as it hits so many of my interests in one go: crochet, ukuleles, stop-motion animation, and even Japanese! <3

kawaiii!

Upcoming Show!

I’m happy to say that I will be a part of the Noise Pop Pop n Shop this year. It’s going to be held at the Verdi Club in San Francisco, on Saturday, February 27. Hope to see you there!

This is part of the excellent Noise Pop Festival, which probably now qualifies for the word “venerable.” So many great bands, new movies, and all sorts of fun. I’ve loved it every year I’ve lived in this town. This year, I’m most excited about !!!, Mark Kozelek, Paula Frazier, and the Magnetic Fields. And Atlas Sound. And, wow, Yoko Ono. I saw Yoko Ono in New York a really long time ago, and while I don’t consider myself a fan, exactly, she is an amazing performer.
